Behind these photos, the idea is to share the primordial place that the Kamo-gawa River occupies in Kyoto. It flows from north to south and cuts the city in two. A true beating heart of the ancient imperial city, its calm and tranquility are transmitted to the inhabitants who bask in its clear water, who stroll on its bucolic banks, or who observe the fauna and flora that compose it. A familiar sanctuary during the sweltering days of June and July, Kamo-Gawa is also the Ariadne's thread that Kyoto's cyclists and walkers take every day of the year. It thus seems to be a personification of the city itself, giving it a soul and a meaning. You will find in these few photos the moments of life that the river offers to anyone lucky enough to wander on the reassuring banks of Kamo-Gawa.
